Val Leoffler, authorized as a Continuum Teacher by Emilie Conrad, is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist, bodywork & Trager practitioner, and clinical hypnotherapist with over 35 years experience teaching movement, transformative self-care and embodiment practices to individuals & groups. As founder of InnerDance, a unique blend of Continuum and healing arts practices, she has taught at UCSC, Omega Institute, Cabrillo and Twin Lakes Colleges, and ongoing classes and workshops at the InnerDance studio in Santa Cruz, CA.

Inquiry, curiosity and innovation are at the heart of her teachings. Nationally certified with NCBTMB, her major influences have been Continuum with Emilie Conrad & Susan Harper since 1978, developmental movement systems with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Dr. Milton Trager, Tamalpa Institute, ongoing yoga studies, Judo black belt, Craniosacral Therapy with Upledger Institute, Dr. Fritz Smith, perception & movement studies with Hubert Godard, Visceral Manipulation with Barral Institute, Jack Kornfield, and an extensive background in working with injury & healing.

As a Registered Somatic Movement Educator & Therapist, she is interested & delighted in how the fluid worlds of somatics and movement arts influence & inform each other & brings this passion to meet the diverse needs of her clients & students. Resiliency and responsiveness as a global being guide her as an activist for social change.

Especially interested in neuroplasticity, she developed a Neuroplasticity and Movement Reading list, and the video: “Diving in the Dark: A Continuum Path to Healing” is an online video documenting recovery using Continuum’s rich neurological offerings, includes an interview with Emilie Conrad.
