For thousands of years we have studied the heavens, tracking the movements of stars and planets as a way to reach into the macrocosm and make meaning of our human experience. The constantly changing geometry of the night offers us a personal reflection, a way of orienting ourselves in a dynamic context of ongoing involutionary and evolutionary cycles within cycles.
Astrology is an ancient and evolving art of mapping and interpreting the relationship with and felt experience of the movements of heavenly bodies as they interact with us individually and collectively. We are a living cosmic dance, expressing in and through the many dimensions of reality - learning, growing and evolving as one universal symphony. The twelve zodiac archetypes reflect the complexity and multivalent nature of this choreography.
In this course, we will explore and discover the universe within, mapping our own cosmic body. Each class will explore the astrological themes and highlights of the current season, attuning each of us to the energies influencing our personal lives and global collective. These themes will then be woven into a Dive, a non verbal, somatic experience of these cosmological energies. Diving below cognition and critical thinking, we tap the intuitive body wisdom inherent in the language of movement and sound. Continuum is a self-directed somatic practice grounded in breath, felt sensation, attention, movement and sound/vibration. Through the wide aperture of this innovative approach to embodiment, fuller incarnation is made possible. The landscape of the body becomes the skyscape of the stars. Outer reflects inner and inner reflects outer. It is here where eternity meets time, where form meets emptiness, where earth and heaven are One.
This 4 part online class series will meet on the first Saturdays of the month from 12:30pm - 5pm EST (dates listed below). Each class will contain content, experiential practice ( a long dive, meditation ) and Q/A.
All classes offered on Zoom, recorded and downloaded to Dropbox.

Open the door this autumn to the body’s inherent wisdom through the moving mindfulness practice of Continuum. These weekly explorations will creatively awaken the physiology of the body with active, fluid body workouts in balance with restorative, expansive explorations asking: What is support? What is strength? What is resilience?
As the world around us continues to be in constant flux, reclaiming our own truth, trusting our own inner wisdom and honing our listening skills has never been more important. What would our lives be like if joy and pleasure are what motivated us? What if we embraced all movement as the medicine that brings us health and vitality? What would it be like to experience stillness from deep inner and outer acceptance instead of being immobilized by fear, anxiety and overwhelm?
• True Beginners welcome. In fact, a Beginner’s Mind strongly encouraged for all.• I strongly urge you to softly allow the flow of your day to allow you to arrive with enough time to set up and be settling in at 8:30 am ET/2:30 pm CET
• Prepare a clean and cleared floor space with a blanket, any cushions, a chair and anything else you need to be comfortable and fully present.
• Hydration is essential. Everyone is encouraged to drink 2 cups of water before the start of class. Have a full water bottle nearby.

• We will often use balls in class. Having a tennis ball and a 9 inch soft ball is strongly encouraged. Here’s a link to the ball that I like best. There are many versions of these on the market and any will work. 9″ BALL
• Bring your curiosity and an open mind, and you’ll have everything you need!
These weekly offerings will be guided by Megan Bathory-Peeler, an expert somanaut – a true explorer of the body. Think of carving out this 1.5-hour block of time as a personal weekly retreat or spiritual bath. Isn’t it time to give your Self the gift of bathing in a pool of rest, reflection, acceptance, compassion, discovery, and inspiration?

“The challenges that we face in our lives require us to show up as our best selves, guided by the heart-based wisdom of divine truth. In this truth, we will find the answers that have eluded us, and we will find our way back to one another and back to a place of harmony with the world around us.”

“Depending on what is necessary at the moment we can shift our structure, thought, and tissue simultaneously in order to enrich the world we inhabit and, consequently, the world we are creating…The ‘I’ of the Cultural Anatomy turns into the ‘we’ of the Primordial Anatomy and eventually becomes the all-inclusive ‘field consciousness’ of the Cosmic Anatomy.”

Opening the Doors of Perception with Continuum
6 weeks of spring classes • May 7-June 11, 2024 • Tuesday evenings 6:00-8:00 pm • Drop-in to any or come to all!
@ Community Yoga & Wellness, 16 Federal Street Greenfield, MA
"There are things known and things unknown, and in between are the doors of perception." ~ Aldous Huxley
Remember how delicious springtime felt to us as children? When bare feet touch earth and the days seem to be growing endless? When there is so much time and it is slow enough that we can sense, savor, and soak in everything as it comes?
Continuum is a practice that opens the time and space for you to fully and radically explore what it means to be a spirit in a human body-mind. By engaging with simple breaths, vocalized sounds, meditative awareness, creative visual imagery, and familiar biological sensations you will increase the fluidity of your body, recovering and restoring sensations that get flattened and lost in the speed of modern life.
Over these 6 weeks we will explore beneath the surface of what our senses present to us in order to perceive and experience what is held inside them. By opening the doors of perception, we will shift our habits of how we pay attention and how we move in our bodies out into the world. We will explore how interconnected we are to the biodiversity of the world as it is: intelligent, aware, alive, interactive, communicative, and filled with soulfulness. We will practice essential grounding and expansion techniques in order to root our individual awakenings of awareness into new daily habits in our beings.
"Once you see again with the eyes of a child, feel with the undefended heart, once you can enter that state at will, then what?" ~ Stephen Harrod Buhner
Appropriate for all ages and abilities. Since everyone was once a child we all have an entire library of embodied knowledge, movements and sensations to rediscover within us. Bring your curiosity and an open mind, and you’ll have everything you need!
Please wear comfortable layers of clothing you feel most at ease moving in, have a notebook to write in, and a full water bottle on hand.

Moving Body Playground: Making Contact
May 17 - 19, 2024
a weekend workshop with Megan Bathory-Peeler and Ellen Cohen
Time Commitment: Arrive Friday 2 pm • Saturday all day • Sunday 1 pm Depart
Workshop Fee: $580 all inclusive
To Register: https://www.shantigar.org/moving-body-playground
Megan Bathory-Peeler and Ellen Cohen bring the magical delights of Continuum to the natural beauty of Shantigar. This year, our theme is Making Contact.
We will play at the intersection of Continuum and Contact Improvisation. We will engage the active and dynamic aspects of Continuum, referred to as Continuum Playground, to come into contact-full and improvisational relationships with ourselves, others, and the world around us.
A key characteristic of any healthy system is its ability to adapt to the changing demands of its environment. By moving our bodies fluidly, in a multiplicity of positions and situations, we get beyond culturally imposed rigidities, fixations, and limitations experienced in daily life. Human bodies are at least 70% fluid. About 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered by water. Continuum reconnects us to our essential biology and interconnectedness of all life on this planet by engaging the potency of fluid movement.
Moving Body Playground also offers the unique opportunity to use specific Continuum equipment—the Explore Board—as well as household furniture, trees, rocks, and the land itself. Shantigar’s natural playground is the perfect place to spend a weekend focused on building strength and resilience through creative, dynamic play. This immersive workshop invites us to extend the scope of our ability to connect inside ourselves, outside in nature, and with one another.
“In developing the work of Continuum I have deliberately focused on the analogy of the cell/embryo as representing the movement of basic bio-fluid motifs, whether within the universe or what we call our ‘bodies.’
From this perspective the cell/embryo establishes the template of fluid movement and structure at its most primary level.“
– Emilie Conrad
Beginning with the very first moment of our lives, we are fluid beings. The embryo pulsates even before developing arms and legs that bend and stretch.
With the gentle breaths, sounds, and mindful movement of Continuum, we return to the subtle pulsations we began with. In the process, we can reclaim our original fluid embryo potential.
This 3-hour class is designed to re-ignite within you the waves, pulsations, and undulations of our original fluid movement, carrying with it the blueprint of our health and well-being.

“To open the eyes, to open the ears, to open the tastebuds, to awaken the ocean of the senses lapping at the shores of phenomenological reality is to worship at the gates of the great mystery of nature.” Josh Schrei – “The Body is the Metaverse” Podcast – The Emerald
We have a vital need for wild unknown spaces, to sit in awareness in the innermost cave of the heart and in the multi-dimensional essence of nature. We invite relational sensuous perceiving and develop spaciousness to meet the complex feelings stirred by life. We tend transpersonal belonging to the elemental intelligences, to imaginal energies, and to the “more-than-human” world.
A Continuum journey takes us into an inner intimacy through meditative silence, perceiving intrinsic movements, primal biomorphic expressions, and dynamic play. We expand in embodied vastness.
We slow down to hear the messages coming from our bodies saying that it is time to stop, to rest, to grieve, and to restore. We arrive at a place of baptism and restoration, a still point within the chaos of life. Incubatory spaces allow us to empty, to shed old habits and outworn beliefs, and to gestate in the luminous dark.
Truly fresh spacious imagination enables us to see beyond, where we find new inspiration, motivation and creativity.

Continuum and Meditation
The art of fluidity and stillness
Making space for all that happens in our inner life is a radical act of self care...
Saturdays ~ June 1, 8, 15 and 29 ~ 11am-3pm ET
To reach the depth we wish to access, let's dive below the layers to deeper parts of ourselves through the fluid practices of Continuum and the stillness practices of Meditation.
Life is always urging us to seek more. Small changes on the surface of our lives may fail to alleviate stagnancy or frustration, and we may need to examine our lives and ourselves more deeply to find the right places to look.
Everything we need for success and joy lies within.
To reach what we wish to access, we must dive below the surface to the deeper parts of ourselves.
The first layer can be found in our minds. Our to-do lists and busywork are usually less important than we think, so we must look past them to examine the thoughts that matter most to us.
The next layer can be found in the sensory.voice of the body which is always calling to us to pay closer attention. It is a part of our way of navigating the world around us.
And our hearts, that place of feelings where past hurts, disappointments, grief, love and pure joy and vulnerabilities, as well as the truth of who and what really stirs the love within us.
It is in the body where we can reconnect with our power, our raw instincts, our organic yeses. Here, at the core, lies our truth. Our fluidity is the foundation of which we have been made, our authentic truest nature.
When we explore ourselves to these depths through sound, movement. curiosity, care and stillness, we find what comes to the surface and what we wish to let go of and keep. When we remember what lies beneath our layers, we can look at what was floating on the surface, and what lays in the depths. This time of exploring self offers a way of navigating the world inside and outside. We can learn, witness and explore how the voice of the body can help us to listen more deeply what currents are below the surface of everyday living for greater clarity and presence.

ISMETA - Professional Development Center presents:
A Somatic Movement Approach to Breathing with Robert Litman. RSME
3- class series on Saturdays, June 1, June 15 and June 29, 2024 from 10 am - 12 pm ET. 7-9 am Pacific.
$150 for ISMETA members, $215 for non-members
Bodies breathe! No two breaths are alike. Each new cycle of breathing can be viewed with curiosity and potential discovery. And we never know if we will get another breath. Each breath is a gift to animate our lives. Breathing consciously provides an opportunity to have a direct relationship with our inner landscapes and for our breath to become an inner resource for our interactions and connection with life—the life which surrounds us. The mission of a Somatic Movement Approach to Breathing is to guide you in establishing an intimate relationship with your breathing and the responsive movements of your body to the changes that arrive in the presence of breath. Noticing how breath moves within you and how the body responds to it are invitations to a deeper knowing of your emotional life, your spiritual life (spirit is literally breath), your physical wellbeing, your health, your professional life, and your private practice.
In this 3-class series that draws on the anatomy and physiology of breathing, Robert Litman will guide you with Continuum explorations to learn to tune in deeply to your own breathing body, an embodied experience that can be passed on to your clients. Personal histories and adaptations to circumstances shape the tensional patterns of our bodies, patterns that, in turn, shape our breathing. Overly protective tensions that arose from trauma, whether hypervigilance or collapse, limit the capacity of the breath to fully provide nourishment to all the cells of the body—bringing in oxygen and removing excess carbon dioxide. Learning to perceive the “messages” that breath, breathing, and our somatic responses to breathing express can inform us as healthcare providers. In fact, Robert believes that learning to read breathing patterns is an essential skill in any somatic movement or complementary field. Equally important is to be able to speak to the client about these patterns and to offer cues that can open new possibilities for wellness.

This retreat, entitled "In-2-Me See", is a specialty retreat for young adults ages 18-25 and is at Shalom Mountain Retreat and Study Center June 13-16th.
Young adults are often in a time of making important life decisions and finding their unique voice in the world. Within a safe and loving community, they will be supported in taking up their power, listening to their inner wisdom, and wrestling with the hard questions of life.
There will be deep in time for transformational ritual, process work, somatic experiencing and movement, and self discovery.
I am co-leading this adventure with my partner Rick and our beloved "Shalom friend" Arianna, each of us bringing our own unique gifts to the group we will be working with. Together, we are weaving what promises to be a rich experience of connection, resourcing, support, and possibilities of discovery for all who attend.
If you have a young adult in your life who you think might benefit from some support, might be curious about their own self discovery, looking for healthy community connection, or want to dip their toes into somatic work please share this opportunity with them. I am also very happy to have a conversation with anyone interested.
I deeply believe in the importance and possibility of helping all beings, but especially young adults, uncover their potential as alive vibrant beings. I'm excited to be able to offer tools and resources to help them meet both the amazing stuff and the hard stuff in their lives.
If you have someone in mind to share this opportunity with, please do.

In this immersion time, we will have the 4 days to drop deep together, calling on, surrounded by, and moving as the elements.
It will be a time to let ourselves remember, be nourished, be moved and inspired through our shared field and elemental being-ness.
Our time together will include sacred ritual, extended dive time, silence, and opening ourselves to listening deeply, as well as sharing with our small group.
The property that I have reserved for this time together is just outside of Buena Vista, CO and offers the gift of access to Earth's deep waters, a natural hot spring pool! It is along side a creek and has access to trails for those who want to deepen further into the surrounding nature.
Space is very limited and will fill on a first come first serve basis.
There are single room, shared room, and camping opportunities on property.
Registration ends May 11th.

Reclaim the pleasure of breathing. Breathing is central to being at ease in relationship with our bodies, our Selves, and the world around us. Continuum gives us elegantly simple, practical, and relevant tools that engage the transformative nature of breathing while exploring fluid movement.
All breath-stopping patterns – screen apnea, news apnea, sleep apnea, and so on – are eventually paralyzing. Continuum dissolves internal restrictions providing ease and comfort in our bodies with cleansing movement practices. Conscious breathing restores equilibrium, without having to understand or fix what is wrong.
Collective engagement grows while practicing and exploring in our workshop sessions together. Our creative exchanges will generate benefits that extend far beyond the workshop. This retreat is for anyone who wishes to sustain themselves from a fluid state of wholeness, well-being, spontaneity, and joy.

Continuum Mystery School ~ Initiation and Remembrance
6 days immersion between July 15-20 2024 in Echay, France
Emilie Conrad created the Mystery School for Continuum teachers as our cultivated pathway to tend the sacred waters which inspire every aspect of Continuum’s teachings. This is an initiation rite for new teachers and requires the adept skills of Continuum experience. Through our practiced pathways we join our ancestors and the archetypical nature of humanity, opening to remembrance of our place in this cosmic dance of life/death/rebirth. Inside Mystery School, we activate our inherent somatic intelligence through potent alchemical symbols which allow us to participate in the living inquiry of Mystery.
Fingers of mind reaching for a deeper awareness…. an understanding that cannot be named but can be felt and sensed in the holy waters of our being…. What molecules of emotion sense the sacred? What receptor site pathways inspire humanity from time immemorial and through every culture to seek, court, and tend the sacred? To enter, again and again, the waters of revelation, we are reminded and reawakened to our awareness of this precious nutrient which gives meaning to our lives. In ritual space, within a field of Grace, we undulate in the dark expanse. Here, we meet ourselves in sound, in movement, in silence.
Sabine and Gael care deeply about this aspect of Continuum because it changed their lives. They hold the Mystery School rituals as our collective moving prayer to the source-waters. Their mutual passion for this body of work has inspired collaboration since 2019.
Gael Rosewood studied with Ida Rolf, the founder of Rolfing / Structural Integration In 1968. Gael met Emilie Conrad and Susan Harper in 1978 and continued to study with them, becoming a Continuum teacher in 1991. She has taught Rolfing, Rolfing Movement and Continuum, maintaining a practice in these modalities.
Sabine Mead is a Master Somatic Movement Educator and Continuum Teacher, mentored by Emilie Conrad and authorized to teach Continuum in 2007. She has done many years of in-depth study with Susan Harper and continues her own inquiry through innovations of sound, unique weavings of themes and explorations.

Whales are magnificent wisdom carriers of the ocean, with much to share about compassion and generosity. Our own bodies are 70-80% water; the remnants of oceanic living are still inside us and available to teach us about flow, creativity, and resiliency. This restorative eco-somatic retreat combines daily whale and other ocean-dwelling creature encounters with movement, dance, breath, sound, and engaged writing practices, explorations, and deep “dives.” We also support Tonga, an island threatened by rising and polluted waters, through inspired action to help us steward mother earth.

This retreat will be dedicated to exploring the healing properties of water. Water is essential to life and all civilizations have celebrated the mysterious powers of water.
We will meet with the Entity named Earthly Sacred Water through journeying into accessible rituals of Perception, Intention and Awareness and we will explore these principles somatically in Continuum dives.
The space of the retreat is surrounded by pure crystalline mountains water of CZ, and we will fully connect with the pristine earth energies held by this beautiful environment.
Sylvain will share his knowledge about spiritual perception, intention and awareness to create a context for the mind where healing and magic can happen.
This retreat will be some sort of « out of time » experience where very little verbal language will be necessary, beside the explanations for the rituals and the dives.
We will tune into the language of Mother Nature being guided by the entity of Sacred Water, the spiritual expression of the water element and by the energies of the land.
The overall focus for participants is about allowing healing of the physical, emotional and mental body through fluid movements and de-animation processes.
And there will be individual session as well facilitated by Sylvain to move through the layers of the healing process.
Each day there will be a different ritual and a different dive to connect more deeply with the spiritual expression of the ground waters present on the land and their connection with the universe.
Be ready for a soft and powerful healing time with deep transformational outcomes.
(For information, healing will not be provided by Sylvain or anyone else, its will be carried by the intention to connect with the universal forces at the root of the creation flux. These incredible universal forces hold the healing patterns to synchronize with the «pure state of being». Pure state of Being has to be understood as a universal pattern that is not distorted by the physical laws of the material universe & the human physical mind. It lays in the quantum non physical realms).

This conception of the 3 anatomies opens up wider possibilities for us to evolve beyond the limitations of the cultural constructs. It opens a portal to expand and experience others ways to be on the earth and to free ourselves from the personal and collective narrative. It is a path towards inner freedom and a deep connection with the earth and the universe.
We will explore the three anatomies with sounds, breaths, moving sequences, creative images to sink into the cellular depths of these sedimentary anatomical layers which make up the different dimensions of our human existence and may also tell us how we came into form as a specie.

The Ocean is home. Considered the mother of us all in many sacred traditions, she absorbs more carbon dioxide than anything else on our planet. For every breath we take, we have the ocean to thank for offering the gift of oxygen, and therefore, of life. In these times of profound climate crisis, our health depends on planetary health. Planetary health depends on ocean health.

Life force is difficult to define. Yet, once we step away from outer-focused action we can both sense and nourish it. Over this long weekend, we will engage in biologically based explorations, developing deep personal resources by tending our inner fluid nature. We will use the Continuum process of breathing, sounding, and fluid movement to provide ourselves heartfelt and soulful attention, galvanizing health and wellbeing; it’s the perfect antidote to today’s overly programmed and homogenized world.
The serene Dharmakaya retreat setting, where basic needs are elegantly met, allows multiple days of immersion into the breath, sound and fluid movement sequences of Continuum. The primary focus is on the life affirming act of supporting personal life force, rather than tending the day-to-day activities of survival, which often lock bodies and identities into tense self-limiting patterns.
Practicing in the covered Outdoor Pavilion restores our connection to nature, giving a necessary infusion of the elemental energies that make up our bodies and our world. The indoor Meditation Hall and fire pit offer additional spaces for nurturing introspective and interoceptive discoveries.
This is a somatic movement workshop accessible to all ages and levels of ability. Once laid out, the practices are done at one’s own pace. This self-guided aspect of Continuum builds inner authority and offers the opportunity for deeper levels of self-regulation—a necessary component of health, wellbeing, creativity and learning.
