In the Northern hemisphere we are approaching the Fall Equinox, a fleeting moment when light and dark have the same duration. After that one point in time the longer nights and shorter days begin to inform our bodies. We are invited to harvest the crops and fruits of our year long journey.
We begin the path towards dissolving.
We begin the path towards letting go of the adaptations that took place during the year.
We begin the path towards resting and listening in.
We begin the path towards exhaling.
We begin the path towards renewal.

Emile Conrad, founder of Continuum, expresses this process in exquisite words:

"I say that all form is temporal. Form is designed to dissolve and reconstitute
in a perpetual act of renewal. Form is movement that has become relatively
stabilized for a given period of time in order to function efficiently in a specific
environment. Whether this form is a marriage or a body or a career, the cycle of dissolution and resolution represents the health of any situation. Stasis and
redundancy create barriers to the life-giving forces that are no longer able to
communicate with us due to our various entrancements."
Emilie Conrad, Life on Land, p.246

After many months of uncertainty and stress we are settling in our new home. I feel the calling to nest and dissolve all the places of frozenness accumulated in my body and heart during these challenging times.

I find the invitation to dissolving simple, yet not easy accessible.
The more I seek the state of what my mind perceives as “dissolving”, the more evident the places of stasis become.
I remember asking Emilie: HOW?????????? How….. do we do it?

Her response was simple…
Start by STOPPING!!!!!!
Take a baseline…. what do you notice? Is your back arched? Can you feel the support of the ground?
Where do you feel breath? Do not try to make it longer… just pay attention!
Make your breath audible…. soft  AAAAHHhhhh on your exhale. Just stop when your exhale completes. Respect your breath. SHE is your teacher not me!
What do you notice after you make a sound? Breath is movement! What else moves when you pay attention to your breath?
Now…let your attention be OPEN! No agenda! Listen…. follow… pause… do not interpret… move following what feels good…welcome the unexpected!
Dive into your fluid nature and ancestry! Allow yourself to be nourished!
Can you feel the life-giving forces of your inherent wholeness?

So simple! So profound! And after many years her teachings continue to guide me and inform me during the most challenging transition moments of my life. Thank you Em!

I invite you to join me and a group of committed practitioners during the month of October to explore the cycles of dissolution and resolution in our bodies!
Gathered in community, gifting ourselves time to be with our bodies, paying attention to sensations and new ways of moving is the kindest way of regaining our inherent wisdom to respond in fresh ways to what is being asked from us!

As Craig Foster in his book Amphibious Soul reminds us:

"But we are made of water, and we came from the water, and when our souls need tending, it is often to the water we return."

May we continue to tend and nourish our souls returning to our inner waters!

Hope to see you in October!
