Singing Our Bones

Singing Our Bones
Continuum is moving practice developed by Emilie Conrad, inspired by the fluid undulations of sacred dance. The flow inherent in this practice inspires our body to move organically, beyond rigid and repetitive patterns of conditioned movement. This flow can ripple out into other aspects of our lives, inviting greater ease, comfort, range, rhythm, and possibility in all our movement, expression and action.
In this Continuum Day long class, all levels of movement and Continuum experience (or not) are welcome. Using breath to inspire a soundstream – into – movement continuum, and exploring in our co-generated field of play, each one of us can self-choreograph to discover greater ease in our movement.
This movement practice supports our body’s own way of being. We can both renew and re-member through the soundscapes and movement sequences that sing our bones aliveness and memory and invoke the spiraling dancers our bones truly are.
“Our bones remember. Many ancient wisdom practices acknowledge the bones ability to seed memory.”
“Our bones are the last aspect of our physical presence to dissolve into earth.”
“Bone is connective tissue and pathway of vibrational communication and healing. Bone is structure and fluid and matrix.”
