Taking a Potent Pause with Continuum
How fast or slowly is your life moving just now? For some, the intense speed of life in the 21st century continues without relief. For others, the current pandemic has slowed things down to an unbearable pause. Still others enjoy being able to spend more time at home with themselves or family. For all of us, pausing in our lives holds potential.
Founder of Continuum, Emilie Conrad, spoke of our need to be “hibernative,” as if we are hibernating. In our speedy 21st century lives, we rarely slow down enough to experience this. Our sympathetic fight flight nervous system is constantly activated by the speed of electronics, mobile phones, multi-tasking and more. We are not designed for this level of speed and we suffer consequences in our health and well-being. A certain amount of stress is useful in our lives but too much going on for too long prevents the natural repair and rejuvenation we are capable of. Taking a pause provides that possibility.
In Continuum, we use different breaths, sounding and mindful movement to slow ourselves down and listen deeply, allowing an inherent fluid wisdom to arise. We find this kind of pause very potent in supporting our health, creativity, relationships, and sense of well-being.
In this online class offered via Zoom, we take a potent pause to meet, ground, breathe, and discover the delicious natural fluidity of our bodies. We will particularly attend to the space between our breaths, sounds and movement to enter more deeply into the life energy we find there, guided by the mysterious bio-intelligence that formed us in the womb and continues to in-form us throughout life.
